🚨 Counties Week is Here – Are You Ready? 🚨

Slide 1️⃣ – Counties Week ≠ More Volume
It’s not about doing more. It’s about clarity, focus, and confidence. Save your energy for the mat.

Slide 2️⃣ – Drill Checklist
Your bread-and-butter moves are what win matches. Single legs, cradles, stand-ups — execute them like you’ve trained all season. Parents: keep it simple, support recovery, and celebrate small wins.

Slide 3️⃣ – Small Details = Big Wins
Trust your training. Focus on ex*****on. Stay confident. Every rep, every move, every moment of focus counts.

🏔️ POST-SEASON PEAK PERFORMANCE

Confidence isn’t a feeling.
It’s something you create through action.

📋 Post-Season Mountain Checklist
• Stop checking how you feel
• Focus on the finish, not the fear
• See your hands ready before the shot
• Finish your best position
• Let confidence show up after the work

Pressure isn’t the enemy — it’s proof you’re climbing the right mountain.
Do the work first. Confidence follows. 🔥

#1 Way to Peak This Postseason 🏆💭

Last night in the Baldwin Bruins room, we laid down and I reminded the team: this is just another match, just another tournament.

We visualized our #1 setup → shot → takedown. Then went through the BALL method, popularized by my mentor Brian Cain:
Breathe. Affirm. Look Back. Look Forward. 🧠🔥

Remember: I can control what I can control. I trust my teammates and coaches. Mental reps matter as much as physical reps so train both!

Try it before your next practice or match.

Comment 👊 if you’ll do your mental reps today!

#1 Single-Leg Finish 🪓

Tomahawk” finish because the whizzer is the real fight.

When he whizzers and steps the leg outside, that’s not a problem… that’s the signal.

You saw it in the . vs — he didn’t force the shot, he waited for the whizzer, then finished. Shoutout to Merge Grappling for breaking down the details 👊

Mental performance lesson:
Elite wrestlers don’t hope a finish works. They hunt reactions. The whizzer tells you:
• where his weight is
• how his hips move
• which finish to hit next

💥 45 seconds of instruction
💥 One finish, one mindset
💥 Training with my partner makes it real

Good luck to wrestlers in post-season! Don’t get stuck in positions — next time we’ll review the shin whizzer.

📍 Thursday nights, 7:45 PM — join us to turn mental performance into physical dominance.

Back in my old high school wrestling room, talking to a team about something that separates good wrestlers from elite ones.

Watch the best in the world and you’ll see it.
Pulling down the singlet.
Adjusting the socks.
One breath before the whistle.

That’s not random.
That’s a reset.

End of a period.
Out of bounds.
Pulled out of position.

Those moments decide matches.

Nearly 86% of wrestlers who score the first takedown win, but late in a match, when you’re tired and in the 14 percent, you need a way to stay composed and keep wrestling through position.

Elite wrestlers slow the moment down.
They reset on purpose.

Back at today.
New room. Same roots.

Standing on the mat with my old high school teammate and training partner, now coaching this next generation. Full circle doesn’t even begin to cover it.

We talked about the simple things that matter most right now.
Turning nerves into energy.
Breathing when the match feels heavy.
Understanding that pressure is a privilege.
Wrestling free instead of wrestling scared.

This sport changed my life.
The people in rooms like this shaped who I am.
I genuinely wouldn’t be where I am today without wrestling, my coaches, and my teammates who believed early and held the standard high.

Grateful to come back.
Grateful to give back.
Proud of this room and this community.

Sectionals are coming.
Stay present. Trust your work. Let it fly.

Mental Monday.
How to W.I.N.

Postseason is not about doing more.
It is about doing what matters most.

What’s Important Now.
Individual Game Plan.
Next position.

One primary leg attack to both sides.
Wrestle with score, time, and position.
Keep big moves in your back pocket for when the match calls for them.

Less is more.
Execute the plan.

Save this. Share it with a teammate.

Then → Now

Then, mental performance meant helping one athlete at a time build confidence and composure.

Now, it’s expanded into a system that supports mental health, preparation, and performance for wrestlers locally and across the country.

Partnering with Pro Ex Wrestling Club ( )allows us to bring awareness and structure to mental performance within an already strong technical environment. The goal is not to rebuild what exists, but to add continuity, clarity, and shared language around preparation, mindset, and peaking properly.

At the same time, we continue to work with college wrestlers in-state and out-of-state, reinforcing that the demands don’t change at higher levels—every match matters, there are no easy matches, and you must be prepared to wrestle six minutes.

Confidence isn’t created by motivation or a video.

Confidence is built through preparation, consistency, and standards.

The mission remains the same: teach athletes how to win on the mat and in life.

Our principles remain the same: loyalty, integrity, honor, and respect.

Same mission.
Expanded impact.
Higher responsibility.

Your postseason starts now 🧠🔥

This week is about peaking physically, sharpening your mindset, and building unshakable confidence. Here’s how to get it done:

Mindset
Focus on what you can control: effort, attitude, and points. Visualize tough match situations and use positive self-talk. Treat the tournament like any other meet… execute your plan! “Your tie, or no tie.”

Physical Peaking
Reduce practice volume but maintain intensity. Keep sessions short, technical, and sharp. Sleep, hydrate, and recover fully. Keep strength work light and precise.

Confidence Training
Drill your go-to moves until second nature. Run situational drills to feel comfortable under pressure. Short bursts of live matches at competition speed keep you sharp.

Coach Talk
Focus on your plan, not their name. Wrestle to score points and let outcomes take care of themselves.
#“Nerves are normal.” — turn adrenaline into energy!

Trust your work. Stay sharp. Finish strong 💪
Your moment starts this week — step on the mat ready.

🔥 Final Stretch Alert 🔥

Some wrestle leagues. Some tackle qualifiers or postseason. Some still have duals this weekend. Everyone is feeling it. Bumps, bruises, fatigue, and the mental weight of a long season—this is where wrestling becomes a war of attrition 💪

When it’s the third period with 30 seconds left ⏱️ it’s not about coaches or parents. It’s about you. Your standards. Your goals. Your reason for competing.

✍️ Take five minutes this weekend and write down why you started and what finishing strong looks like for you. Wrestle for yourself.

Tag a training partner and push each other to finish strong this weekend 🏆

Finish Friday 🔥

We’re in the final stretch of the season. For some it’s leagues, for others qualifiers or postseason. Some still have duals or tournaments this weekend.

Bumps, bruises, fatigue = this is where wrestling becomes a war of attrition. That’s normal. That’s where seasons are defined.

When it’s the third period with 30 seconds left, it’s not about parents or coaches. It’s about you. Your standards. Your goals. Your reason for competing.

This weekend, compete with clarity. Wrestle with confidence. Reconnect with what made the sport fun in the first place.

Take five minutes, write down why you started, and define what finishing strong looks like for you. Own it. Finish for yourself.
