At Morris Heights Health Center, Patient Safety Week is more than a recognition moment; it is a reflection of who we are as an organization.
This week, we are highlighting our shared commitment to strengthening a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and excellence across every level of care. In a Federally Qualified Health Center setting, patient safety is not the responsibility of a single department. It is the work of all of us: clinical teams, administrative staff, leaders, and support services, coming together to protect our patients, our workforce, and our community.
Throughout the week, we are reinforcing key areas that support safe, high-quality care, including HIPAA and privacy, safe transitions, error prevention, time-out procedures, phishing awareness, compliance, infection control and risk management, medication safety, and patient engagement.
Patient safety is built through everyday actions, strong communication, and a commitment to doing the right thing even when no one is watching. We are proud to continue fostering an environment where safety is embedded in our culture and teamwork drives our impact.
