This was gold and we couldn't NOT share...

One thing to remember is you need to be more gentle with yourself...:

All those unhealthy behaviors you're trying to unlearn... they're not organic to you. You started doing those things to protect yourself. You were in a potentially toxic environment and this was how you chose to protect yourself when you didn't have more information. Now you're (hopefully) out of those environments but still doing the same things because you've built these habits that no longer serve you.

Now you need to learn new habits and that is a lot of work. You're unlearning bad behaviors and replacing them with behaviors that both protect and serve who you have grown into.. who you could of been had you not been in those toxic places to begin with.

We're excited to announce Soul Vision Wellness will begin offering Couples Therapy to those in dating, engaged and marital relationships this summer. Our therapists are Level 1 & 2 Trained in the Gottman Method as well as Certified Prepare Enrich Facilitators. Faith based options available.

The Gottman Institute is the culmination of Drs. John and Julie Gottman's life work as researchers and clinical psychologists. Our approach to relationship health has been developed from over 40 years of research with more than 3,000 couplesโ€”the most extensive study ever done on marital stability. The Gottman Method aims to improve verbal communication, increase intimacy, increase respect, increase affection, remove barriers to conflict resolution and create more empathy and compassion within relationships.

The Prepare-Enrich program helps to start meaningful discussions with couples by determining the strengths and weaknesses within each unique relationship. There is a 30 percent higher marital success rate for couples who received counseling before their wedding than those who did not.

We're happy to announce we will begin offering EMDR Therapy in the coming weeks. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy is an evidenced based treatment that has been proven to be effective in assisting those struggling with PTSD and Trauma.

Compared to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR can be less invasive and can be easier on the client as it doesn't require repeated review of the traumatic events. It is not hypnosis nor does it remove the memories of the event. EMDR does remove the negative symptoms experienced when you recall the event. We're excited for what this means for our current clients as well as those interested in improving their mental health. Like, Share, and Follow for updates!

From our Founder and Lead Therapist:

So I was waiting to get my professional headshots before posting to this page but I feel like this is probably the most accurate depiction of who I am as a professional.

I love my job because I love to see people win. Therapy is HARD there is no doubt about that. Watching my clients make progress no matter how big or small truly makes it all worth it though.

to those of you clients making progress big, small and all the sizes in between. And to all my fellow clinicians who are helping them along the way! ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿพ

In this clip shares in her interview with some things she learned through her walk in therapy that ultimately helped her create her new book
How often do you pick up the fears of others and carry them as your own? Pretty heavy to carry theirs and also your own don't you think...๐Ÿค”

It takes time to build rapport and trust in the therapeutic relationship.... But it's incredibly important for you to be open to discussing your issues. I always say there are a few folks you should always be 100% with... Your Doctor, your Lawyer, and your Therapist! One keeps you out your death bed. The other keeps you out of jail. And the last keeps you in your right mind ๐Ÿ˜‰

Do you find yourself struggling to open up to your therapist or do you get comfortable in session and let it rip from the jump...?

Happy Sunday!! ๐Ÿ˜Š

This photo to me illustrates what can happen when you create time to focus on your growth even when you've been cut down and assumed destroyed. Whether that cutting came by inflicted trauma, grief, anxiety, etc. we already have in us what we need to grow beyond that space. We can literally be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

Just wrapped up a social media fast. It is my way of giving the first of my year to God. Quieting the noise around me and focusing on discerning what it is I'm believing in God for in the new year. Whether your anchor is God, the Universe, or Elvis have you taken a moment to sit with self and start the process of growing beyond your cuts? Some great questions to start with:

Who do I believe I am?
How have I evolved positively and negatively?
Who do I want to be?
What do I need to do to bridge that gap?
Who can help me?

When you change your mind you can change your life...
