When using lubricant with the Reia pessary:
❌  Do not use silicone-based lubricants (e.g., Überlube)
❌ Do not use oil-based products (e.g., coconut oil, petroleum jelly)
✅ Use water-based lubricant

How come? The Reia pessary is made from 100% silicone. Silicone-based lubricants can damage silicone devices, like Reia.

☝️Quick heads up: Überlube is silicone-based (they don’t make a water-based option), and that’s not always obvious on the label!

Well this is pretty awesome 🙌

Reia just got a shoutout from Fast Company’s 2025 Innovation by Design Awards in the Accessible Design category!

We put a lot of care into each detail with the goal of making prolapse care easier, more comfortable, and more accessible to all people -
💪 While strong in its supportive state, the pessary is designed to easily collapse for insertion and removal
🫶The applicator holds the pessary collapsed during insertion and has large, easy-to-grip features
✏️ Our instructions are clearly written, beautifully illustrated, and in large font (no reading glasses required!)
🟡 The fitting pessaries & size markings are color-coded with colors distinguishable by people with color-blindness.

We’re honored to be recognized alongside other innovators, but what makes us proudest is seeing people more able to manage prolapse on their own terms as Reia has gone out to the world. 💙

What do we mean by “all stages” and “all types” of prolapse?

Prolapse occurs when the pelvic floor is weakened, and the pelvic organs shift downward.

👉 Stage refers to how much the organs have moved, from mild (stage 1) to severe (stage 4).
👉 Type refers to which organ is affected - the bladder, re**um, uterus, or va**na.

In Reia’s clinical trial, people with all types of prolapse and all stages of prolapse participated.

📏 Measurements of where the pessary sits in the va**na (called Ba and Bp) were taken to evaluate how well the Reia pessary and the participant’s current pessary support their prolapse.

🙌 The trial found Reia provided support just as effectively as ring and Gellhorn pessaries.

Support that is more effective, easier to manage, and just as effective? Yes, please! 💃

An internationally published study assessing insertion and removal pain of ring, shelf, and Gellhorn pessaries recently concluded: “pessary removal causes most women moderate pain, which should be communicated to patients beforehand.”

This shouldn't have the be a conclusion!

The Reia applicator holds the pessary during insertion (so you don’t have to!).

It was designed to make pessary insertion easy and comfortable for everyone.

To use: first, collapse the pessary and slide it into the applicator. Then, insert the applicator and press on the end to release the pessary (similar to a tampon applicator). Ta-da! 🪄
