So many people prioritize their physical fitness, as they should, with workouts and healthy meals. But, not nearly as many people focus on their mental health. Wouldn’t it be nice if a common new year’s resolution was to get in shape mentally, too?

Feeling down? You're not alone. Here’s 12 simple ways to support your mental health.

☀️Spend some time with friends and family who care. Don’t isolate yourself!

☀️Simplify your life as much as possible. Don’t add more to your plate than you can handle.

☀️Get out of the house, even if it’s just to check your mail or drive around town. Spending some time in nature is even better!

☀️Try to restructure any negative thinking and speak to yourself as you would a friend.

☀️Get some exercise, even if it’s just walking around your neighborhood.

☀️Cry it out. Crying offers more benefits than most are aware of.

☀️Eat or drink something healthy. How can you feel your best when you fuel your body with low-quality foods?

☀️Do more activities you enjoy. If you’re struggling to find anything you enjoy, start with activities you used to enjoy.

☀️Take a mental health day. Sometimes, all you need is to hit the reset button and spend a day focusing on yourself.

☀️Journal it all out. Write down how you’re feeling, what might have caused you to feel this way, and tiny steps you can take to make it better. Getting it all out on paper might help you to process and/or discover your true feelings.

☀️Have a dance party with your favorite music, exercise your creativity, or snuggle your furry friends!
