If weight loss is your New Year’s resolution, the scale isn’t the goal.

Small, sustainable habits matter—and for some, medical support does too.

You deserve evidence-based care, compassion, and goals that support your health long-term. 💙

Here’s to science, compassion, and real health in 2026 💙

Oral Wegovy is coming in 2026 👀💊

The OASIS-4 trial showed an average 13.6% total body weight loss over 64 weeks 📊

Estimated cash pricing ranges from $150–$300/month 💵

More treatment options mean more flexibility for patients ✨

This is progress—but affordability and broader insurance coverage still matter 🧠💙

Holidays can be a joyful time—but they can also come with a lot of expectations 🎄✨

Protecting your mental and emotional health matters 🧠🤍 Setting boundaries isn’t selfish—it’s necessary.

You may not wear a vest that says “I Need Space,” but you can create your own safe spaces 🛑💛—by staying close to people who understand your comfort level and can act as buffers, or by stepping away from situations when you need to 🚶‍♀️🌿

Honor what you need this season 💫
Happy Holidays 🎁✨

🦠Cold/COVID/Flu season is peaking across the state.

Keep yourself and those more vulnerable around you safe by getting vaccinated if you haven’t already, wearing masks (especially in densely populated areas), and frequently washing your hands.

Stay warm & healthy!! ☕️

📣BREAKING NEWS!!📣

Another step in making weight loss medications more affordable and hopefully more accessible: NovoNordisk announced the cash price of Wegovy (semaglutide) is decreasing to $349 from $499.

It wasn’t long ago the cost was $650 with a coupon, so there has been significant decreases in the price.

Hopefully this will make it so more insurance companies will start covering the cost of these treatments and available to the most vulnerable populations 🤞

💊 Breaking GLP-1 Update

The administration announced a new deal to lower the cost of popular weight-loss medications Wegovy and Zepbound.

💰 New Pricing (via TrumpRx):

Wegovy & Zepbound: $350/month (expected to drop to $250 in 2 years)

Future oral GLP-1 pills: starting at $149/month up to $350

🧾 Medicare Coverage:
The administration claims Medicare and Medicaid will begin covering GLP-1s for obesity, but details remain vague. Federal law currently prohibits Medicare from covering medications solely for weight loss — though a pilot program may expand access for patients with heart disease, kidney disease, or severe obesity.

Experts say lower prices could help many people — but access and coverage details are still unclear.

👁️ Eye Health & GLP-1 Medications 💉

Let’s talk about eye conditions that may be associated with GLP-1 medications 👇

1️⃣ Diabetic Retinopathy
In people with diabetes who already have eye damage from high blood sugar, a rapid drop in glucose can temporarily worsen retinopathy.
Since GLP-1s lower blood sugar quickly, it’s important to screen for diabetic retinopathy before starting and monitor closely after.

2️⃣ NAION – “Eye Stroke”
NAION (Non-Arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy) happens when blood flow to the optic nerve is blocked, causing sudden vision loss in one eye.
Current studies are retrospective — meaning they can’t show cause and effect. Some show a possible link, others do not. More research is needed.

Risk factors include hypertension, diabetes, and sleep apnea — all common in people with obesity.
📖 Refs: PMID 38958939, 39491755, 40146102, 40015592

⚖️ The overall risk appears low, but screening and treating underlying conditions are essential.

⚕️Health Misinformation on Social Media is on the rise.

This includes “wellness influencers” and also doctors who fear monger to sell products that aren’t supported by current evidence.

Here is a list of some of the doctors and scientists on social media I recommend following for scientifically sound information.

💡 Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis (NEAT)

Did you know that a large portion of the energy we burn each day doesn’t come from workouts — but from everyday movement?

🚶‍♀️ Choosing to walk instead of drive
🪜 Taking the stairs instead of the elevator
🛒 Carrying groceries instead of using a cart
🧹 Cleaning, cooking
🚣 Or even a leisurely row

All these small choices add up and make a big difference! 💪

That’s why aiming for at least 5,000 steps per day is a great marker of a non-sedentary lifestyle.

✨ Small, consistent actions = a more active, healthier you.

🍎 Fruits are your friends! 🍓

Fruits (along with veggies 🥦, legumes 🥬, and whole grains 🌾) are packed with fiber and nutrients your body needs to thrive.

A small rise in glucose after eating fruit is a normal and healthy response — not something to fear. ✅

🍊 Whole fruits are part of a balanced, whole-food diet and support gut health, energy, and longevity.
🚫 Fruit juices, on the other hand, should be limited — they lack the fiber that slows sugar absorption.

Be cautious of anyone telling you to avoid fruit or selling “supplements” to block glucose spikes from fruit. 🍇

(Even if you eat an apple a day, you should still see your doctors for maintenance health!!)
