Dear Collective 💜 We’re hosting a new event, and we’d love to see you there!

Join us this Sunday, November 30, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Lunita Loft in Park Slope, Brooklyn - to learn about coffee’s African roots and its largely erased colonial history with a relaxed coffee tasting and discussion lead by Seb (former Director of Education for Devoción USA) and tunes by Mario (a life-long barista).

In times of difficulty, coming together over a cup of coffee with like minded people can be a healing experience. For many of our communities, coffee or tea gatherings are an important piece of our connection and become even more healing when we can make a positive impact with ethical consumption choices.

We are already in bed 7PM, and that's ok ♡♡♡♡
Period 🩸 lol
So I can have the energy to support my students, community - and myself, Eeespecially during colder, months with less sunlight, aAaAnd when I'm bleeding, it werks for me to be in bed sooner - in line with the rhythm of nature
I wasn't always this way, I didn't think of rest as an option, nor did I always have it as an option. I used to try and push through, and sometimes that is necessary, but not always - I learned from very wise mentors, and people I admire so much that following nature's rhythm is one way we can enact indigenous values in a capitalist environment - when we can, if we can

The winter Solstice ❄ a time of development in the darkness, like being in the womb, and more. The light always returning, but perhaps not in the way we expect it to.
Sometimes we need to destroy physical, spiritual, internalized institutions to let in that light, as many institutions are built to make us forget ourselves - but it takes time and effort, and stillness to reclaim our power ♡
Sometimes we need to be still and in darkness without external messages to receive the light. This can come through rest, Journaling, positive self talk, ancestral messages, dreams, through reaching out to community, and through effort.
May we support one another in existing in our darkness, absorbing the knowledge it provides, and taking steps towards existing in and acknowledging our light ♡
I know I'm a few days late, but 🤷🏻‍♀️

Moments of joy from indigeous magic, and an emotional support object (as one of my students would call it) amongst the dumpster firess 🔥 in addition to doing the werk of course ❤🙏🏽
A Horror Anthology book by indigenous authors 🤸🏻‍♀️ I really stopped reading for fun for like 10 years! Thanks to my love for always inspiring and encouraging me to live my best reading life, also the q***r book club at werk!!!
An aloxlotl from .e.stitches 😭 literally made me tear up with joy when I received it 🤸🏻‍♀️🥰☺☺☺
