“I feel like we really need to see kids on an individual level, so the biggest thing that I think comes out of our center to support developmental disabilities is developing autonomy. Our kids are not just a number. […] Our kids are people.”

To wrap up Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, we sat down with our life-changing Clinical Director (CD) on , Sydney Raymond, to discuss how ACP prioritizes acceptance across our centers! After being with Autism Care Partners for 7 years and growing from an intern Behavior Technician position all the way to CD, Sydney’s unique insight into the growth of our centers is a worthwhile read for all.

We are so grateful to have passionate individuals like Sydney and provide service to our kiddos!

Happy from Autism Care Partners!

The relationships we have with clinicians are vital to the work we do here at ACP. Through our Pediatrician Partnerships, we are able to keep our wait time for Diagnostic Evaluations between 3 weeks and 3 months. This is in comparison to the national average of 6-12 months!

By with doctors in our community, we can create life-changing differences for families by providing quicker and wider access to care. Thank you, doctors!

Chaining, specifically forward chaining, is a tool often utilized within ABA to help kiddos learn more complex skills. Let’s break it down a bit!

By focusing on one task at a time and then connecting the next like a chain, learners can master skills at their own pace! An example can include hand washing: first a kiddo must master turning on the sink, and then placing their hands under the running water. By using forward chaining, little ones have a better understanding of expectations, allowing them to practice these multi-step skills without feeling overwhelmed!

Eligibility for the EIP can be determined only by State approved evaluators under contract with the municipality.
