The Early Intervention Program is a public program funded by New York State, Nassau & Suffolk counties, and the NYC Department of Mental Health, and is for children less than three years of age who have or are suspected of having a developmental delay and/or disability. Eligibility for the EIP can be determined only by State approved evaluators under contract with the municipality.

If a child is found eligible for the EIP, all services are identified in collaboration with the family and must be authorized by the municipality. The municipality will arrange for service providers to deliver services authorized by the municipality. All services under the EIP are provided at no out-of-pocket cost to families, but health insurance may be accessed, without affecting your family’s benefits. For services provided in community settings that require a fee, the parent is responsible for paying those costs.

To access EI services, contact the Nassau County Department of Health at 516-227-8661 or the Suffolk County Department of Health at 631-853-3100 or the Westchester County Department of Health at 914-813-5094. To access EI services within New York City, contact the NYC Help Line at 311.

ACP Early Intervention is an approved provider of Early Intervention services under contract with Nassau County, Suffolk County, Westchester County, and New York City.

Have you been working on handwashing at home? Having robust supports can have a impact on learning new skills in a way that is understandable to our kiddos!

Many little ones who have difficulties with language may struggle with certain types of words or phrases, many of which are used in handwashing! Verbs such as “turn on” when talking about a faucet and adjectives like “dirty” are just two examples of how complex language is used in everyday activities. This is why using dynamic scene cues such as the videos in the Visual Immersion System library can be beneficial for learners to grasp a better understanding of what is expected!

Autism Care Partners holds the exclusive license to the VIS and utilizes it within our Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy services! We are in the process of making this support available at all ACP locations within our ABA services so everyone can feel the impact!

Find the full handwashing VIS sequence on ACP’s YouTube channel so you and your family can master this skill!

Our hearts at Autism Care Partners go out to all those in Rhode Island affected by the tragic events this past weekend.

We are shaken by the shooting at Brown University and aresending our love to those impacted.

Violence, especiallysomething as random and barbaric as this sparks fear, grief, and anxiety across our communities. We know that violence is never the answer.

Community, kindness, and compassion for all is. Please look out for each other today and every day

Meet two of our Speech-Language Pathologists, Madison Caffrey and Morgan Pacheco!

Based at our Warwick, RI center, Madison and Morgan work with our kiddos on developing language! Many of our little ones first arrive to ACP with little to no communication skills, making our SLPs a vital part of helping our families reach their fullest potential. Whether through AAC devices, PECS, or sign language, our SLPs give everyone in their care a "voice" to carry with them onto their next adventures.

Not only this, but many of our SLPs including Madison and Morgan also specialize in Feeding Therapy through working on actions such as swallowing! All in all, our SLPs never cease to amaze us!

Let’s build while working on core strength and coordination!

This simple activity targets many different areas of development, making it the perfect way to pass the time with your kiddo! Not only are little ones building muscle and balance through holding the plank, but they are also working on cognitive development and as they navigate moving the hoops! The thinner the hoop, the more are targeted through grip strength as well.

Working on your body and mind at once? Sounds like a two for one!
