Imagine a world where you can’t relate to the stories shared in pop culture. For neurotypical individuals, we often take for granted the ability to see our lives represented in media and the experience of learning from the tales being told. This is why we wanted to put together a list of media containing for those with Autism and their families!

One of the major differences between “awareness” and “acceptance” is showing someone they belong, not just acknowledging their existence. Representation in pop culture is vital to spread societal acceptance and education as the public often aligns with themes in media. The more diverse representation of the lives of others, the more is spread for different situations and experiences.

With these children's books and television shows, here are some storylines your family may better relate to! Who’s your favorite character?

Inclusivity is one of our core values at ACP. Visit AutismCarePartners.com to learn more about how we spread !

Lights, and sirens, and trucks
oh my! had a very special visit from the Lawrence Fire Department yesterday!

This was a unique and engaging experience for our little ones to learn about firefighters. They were able to ask any questions and, of course, enjoyed their time in the fire truck! Our visitors turned on the sirens so our kiddos could get used to the sounds in a safe and comfortable environment and put the lights on for some fun !

Thank you again to the Fire Department for coming!
