She was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the American College for the Advancement of Medicine (ACAM), the leading voice of Integrative Medicine for more than 1,500 MD, DO, ND, and master-level health-care providers. George’s University School of Medicine, and completed a three year internal medicine residency at Albany Medical Center. She was trained by the late Dr. Robert Atkins, author of the well-known Dr. Atkins’ New Diet Revolution (1972) and Dr. Atkins’ Age-Defying Diet: A Powerful New Dietary Defense Against Aging (2001); and Dr. Ronald L. Hoffman, each of whom are true pioneers in the field of integrative medicine. Integrative medicine is a “boutique,” patient-focused area of practice involving an extensive amount of physician-patient communication, interview and assessment time. Dr. Cohen treats each of her patients from a holistic point of view by evaluating the whole person and not just the specific symptoms or conditions that brought him or her to the doctor’s office.
