Due to the oil crisis in 1973, engineers were searching for ways to reduce fuel consumption, but with little success or significant achievements.
During that period, while on vacation, engineer Richard noticed by chance how eagles fold their wings to increase lift with less energy!
He delved deeper into what he observed and why the birds folded their wings, discovering that this method results in fewer vortices.
From this simple observation, he realized that reducing drag also reduces fuel consumption.
The story is old, but it has been applied recently.
