One of my best "reads" or maybe I should say listens for me this year was the last 3 chapters of this book by Eckhat Tolle, The Power Of Now.
I have tried to read Echakrt in the past but I found his books really hard to follow and get through so I gave up.
But this year, Chapter 8 specifically of The Power Of Now came up in a lecture I was listening to and I looked it up on youtube where the individual chapter's audio are readily available. And boy was it worth a listen !
It is titled "Enlightened Relationships"

Deciding what you want and committing yourself to getting it, is one of the most radical things a woman can do for her life in general, and her love life in particular. It sounds simple put like this, but in actuality it is very complex for us to do.

Deciding what we truly desire, despite our self doubt, despite our insecurities, despite our limiting beliefs is tougher than it sounds. It requires admitting to ourselves that we want things that we have not dare admit outwardly until now. We can't have what we will not let ourselves want. It is important to push past the doubts, the fear of ridicule and shame and admit to ourselves what we want authentically.

it is crucial to commit to yourself and what you want because only then, will you align your decisions, actions, and words to support that goal and that vision.

Self acceptance is one of the toughest things for us women to get to. We are often our toughest judge and critic and pick ourselves apart before anyone else has the chance to do it. We use this as a mechanism to hold ourselves back in many areas where expanding scares us. Your Boundaries are for you to know and enforce. You don't have to tell them to everyone in advance to make sure they don't cross them. You don't have to control other adults so that they behave how you want them to. The only person you have control over is you.
