Supporting Madison Areas Health and Safety Workers

As the protests start at the Capitol, I wanted to share that we we were able to raise $1000 this week to support health care and police officers!

We donated $500 to Pasture & Plenty to buy between 15 and 20 meals for BOTH St Mary’s Hospital and UW Hospital.

We also donated $500 to The Roman Candle Pizzeria who is delivering pizza and salads to Madison police officers. Roman Candle is matching the contribution, which will be spread out over multiple weeks and across the city. Roman Candle is also supporting Madison bus drivers today with pizza and salad.

Thanks to everyone who donated last week, we worked with Beef Butter BBQ to donate meals this week!

This week, we raised another $1000 to support our health care and public safety workers. Details on those donations coming tomorrow!

We are going to make this week the last week of this little effort.

Since our public safety and health care workers will be directly impacted because of the protesters coming to Madison on Friday, I thought it would be appropriate to raise as much money as we can for the week, and then purchase meals for the police officers and health care workers to show them we have their backs .

Based on how much we raise, we'll spread the spending out across restaurants and shops in Madison.

Some more big news!

Thanks to everyone’s continued generosity, we have partnered with Fairchild Restaurant to purchase 100 $10 gift cards to Fairchild Restaurant. These gift cards will be donated to St Mary’s Hospital staff.

Fairchild is a new restaurant on Monroe Street that opened in early March, just before the Safer at Home order. Glad to support this new business while also feeding our frontline hero’s!

Can you help us keep our momentum going? We have raised almost $4000 for this project. With a little more help, we’ll be able to partner with another restaurant and health care provider to donate another 100 meals!

We just dropped off 100 $10 meal vouchers for The Avenue Club at UW Health. We included a couple of nice notes too!

Thanks to the Avenue, we were able to provide special, reduced rate meals for these amazing health care providers!

First round of Stella’s Bakery spicy cheese bread delivered to some of Madison’s finest!

Some good news despite all the gloom today.

Thanks to everyone’s support, today we purchased:

100 $10 gift certificates from The Avenue Bar. These are special gift certificates just for UW Hospital employees to help them purchase meals that have been marked down in price just for them!

91 loaves of spicy cheese bread from Stella Madison. Each loaf was discounted from their normal price!

75 $5 gift certificates from Michelangelo’s Coffee Shop. Michelangelo’s gave us 20% off these gift certificates.

Over the next two days these gift cards and loaves of bread will be donated to Madison police officers, UW Hospital workers, and St Mary’s nurses.

We aren’t done yet though. I’m still working with additional Madison restaurants as well as health care providers and public safety groups to provide them with meals and gift cards. I’ll have more news to share on that from shortly.
