Great meeting at Columbia’s Trustees and Alumni Presidents’ Dinner with other members and leaders of the . As it turns out we overlapped in our education and share common friends/colleagues. : >50% bone loss, exposed threads, peri-implantitis, non-parallel and off axis placement (somewhere else).

Implants removed to allow soft tissues to heal —-> can you spot the resulting combined vertical and horizontal alveolar deficit? How would you ready this patient? Sinus lift and implants will only take care of the vertical dimension - for the implant - but not the restorative space.

Opted for Ridge augmentation using cortico-cancellous allograft from with Bio-exclude and Ti-PTFE to gain ~4mm in height and correct the horizontal deficit. Clinical picture shows initial layering… additional bone packed after the photo. Any additional need for height can be achieved in a minimally invasive way at time of implant surgery (internal sinus floor elevation).
