Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has introduced substantive single-payer legislation in the U.S. Senate. The Medicare For All Act (S.1804), which was filed Sept. 13, 2017, would establish a universal single-payer health program to ensure care for all residents of the United States.

Good day everyone, I found this article in a June issue of the New York Times and thought it lends well to an introduction to ElderCare matters. The debate about Medicaid, the Senate health bill and anticipated cuts will most adversely affect seniors (poor and non-poor) institutionalized and community dwelling as well as disabled adults dependent on Medicaid covered services. As most of us know, Medicare offers very limited coverage to care in skilled nursing facilities and health care services available to one's home. Take a look at this article for a fine summary of Medicaid. The author dispels many myths about the program, and offers ways to advocate for older adults.
