This past weekend our cadets along with the Cheshire Police Department teamed up with the Cheshire Fire Department to host a toy drive at Marshall’s. Cheshire came out and showed their Christmas spirit, gifting 18 trash bags full of toys to be distributed to Yale New Haven Hospital, Connecticut’s domestic violence shelters, along with a few others. Our cadets had a blast and were even joined by Santa on a ladder truck! We want to give a big shoutout to all of those who donated. We can’t wait to see you all again next year!

Happy holidays from the Cheshire Police Cadets! 🎁

A huge thank you to the Cheshire community for your incredible generosity!
Yesterday’s Coin Drop for Special Olympics Connecticut was a great success thanks to all of you! Our Cheshire Police Officers, with support from the Cheshire Police Cadets, spent the afternoon collecting donations to benefit Special Olympics and its amazing athletes.
We’re grateful to everyone who contributed, and for your patience driving through the drop zone!

Last Saturday, the Cheshire Police Cadets, along with several of our officers, delivered 80 turkeys and 150 pounds of potatoes to our community for Thanksgiving!

The day started by escorting a Hometown Foundation Inc. tractor trailer full of food from Bozzuto's Inc. in Cheshire to Wilbur Cross in New Haven, where Hometown distributed hundreds of turkeys to representatives from area agencies and organizations. The Cadets loaded up their share and set off to deliver the goods!

First stop - Masters Manna Inc. Food Pantry & Resource Center in Wallingford; which provides services to Cheshire residents, then the Cheshire Community Food Pantry, Inc. (thank you St. Bridget church for coordinating), and finally the Franciscan Life Center Campus.

Not only did the Cadets make Thanksgiving Day dinner possible for our community, they built long-lasting relationships with Cheshire, learned about the importance of Community Policing, and made memories that they won't soon forget!

We wish you a happy Thanksgiving from the Cheshire Police Cadets!

The cadets had a blast this Wednesday as we held a surprise party for our departing and beloved advisor, Officer Caulfield, who will unfortunately be on deployment for the next year. Officer Caulfield has been a loved and dedicated advisor this past year, leaving a positive impact on all our cadets. We’ll miss you and we can’t wait to see you next year!

We were also joined by interested high schoolers who learned of our program through the CHS club fair. They enjoyed their time at the meeting and we expect to see them back soon!

Following the party, Officer Caulfield brought our prospect and current cadets on a tour around the police station to end off the night.

If you or anyone you know is interested in joining or just checking us out for a meeting, make sure to send us a message; we’re always looking for new cadets.

Last week, the Cheshire Police Explorers teamed up with the Berlin Police Cadet Program and Southington Cadets for a trip to the 9/11 memorial!

This was a great learning moment for our cadets to see the history of our country, especially during such an important time where many first responders’ lives were lost. It highlights the unity our country had during the time that followed and gives our cadets a goal for the future and a way to see just how good our country can be.

A special shoutout to the Berlin Police Cadets and the Southington Police Cadets who joined us for this trip. Everyone enjoyed your company and would love to see another joint event with you both!

Last week, the Cheshire Police Explorers had an exciting meeting at the Cheshire Fire Department!

Our cadets were given a fantastic tour by Lt. Schlauder, Lt. Keene, and CPD Officer Caulfield, who showed them around the firehouse and shared valuable insights into their operations.

After the tour, the cadets got hands-on experience with forcible entry techniques using the CFD door prop! They also practiced low visibility building searches while fully geared up in appropriate fire equipment.

This past week, our Cadet program held promotion interviews for the rank of Cadet Sergeant. Four cadets, who met the eligibility criteria based on age and time in service, stepped up to face a panel including Patrol Lieutenant Durkee, Patrol Sergeant Gonzalez, and Cadet Advisors SRO/Ofc. Kahn and Ofc. Caulfield.

During the interviews, each cadet tackled a series of questions covering both scenario-based challenges and their knowledge of the Cadet program. They were assessed on their responses, uniform presentation, and overall attitude.

We're proud of our cadets for their hard work and dedication! All four Cadets were very impressive, but we only have two Sergeants positions.

Congrats to newly promoted Cadet Sergeants
Sgt. Welter and Sgt. Allard.

Last weeks meeting was all about getting fit and ready for the Summer Academy! Our cadets dove into an intense upper body workout, honing their strength through weight training. Focus was on perfecting form and safety to ensure every rep counts. We’re proud of our Explorers for their dedication and hard work! Keep pushing yourselves!
