👏 Congratulations to Dr. Camille Cash and the leadership of The Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons on an outstanding and memorable meeting.
✨ A true highlight was celebrating Dr. Pat Maxwell’s 50 years of educating us in breast surgery. His tour de force lecture was not only a masterclass in innovation and surgical wisdom, but also a reminder of the enduring impact one surgeon can have on generations of colleagues and patients. The moment was made even more meaningful by Dr. Tom Biggs’ heartfelt introduction. For me personally, it carried special significance, as Dr. Biggs and his wife Katherine opened their home to me on 🇺🇸 9-11-2001, when I was stranded in Houston after taking my oral boards. To see Dr. Biggs honor his dear friend and colleague Dr. Maxwell was a profoundly moving experience.
🌸 Another highlight was the Women’s Lunch honoring Dr. Linda Phillips, Professor and Chief of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UTMB. Dr. Phillips is a trailblazer and mentor to countless women plastic surgeons, inspiring not only her trainees but also an entire generation of surgeons through her leadership and example.
🔑 The meeting also marked an important transition of leadership. Dr. Henry Mentz concluded a highly successful presidency, handing the reins to Dr. Camille Cash, whose gracious hospitality and meticulous planning were evident in every detail of the program. Dr. Cash left no stone unturned, creating a meeting that combined superb faculty, rich scientific content, and warm collegiality. A special thank you to Motiva 🍷🍽️ for sponsoring the pre-meeting dinner, which set the stage for camaraderie and friendship.
🌍 The celebration of Dr. Maxwell’s extraordinary career was enriched by international colleagues, including Dr. Arturo Ramirez Montanana, President of ISAPS, and Dr. Bertha Torres, past President of the Mexican Association of Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstr Surgeons. Dr. Montanana, a longtime friend of Dr. Biggs 🤝, added an especially personal note to the occasion, underscoring not only the global reach of Dr. Maxwell’s contributions but also the enduring friendships that knit our specialty together across generations.
