UPDATE:

The New York State Police are providing an update regarding the search for Nicolas A. Lecuyer, age 36, of Brasher Falls.

On April 5, 2026, at approximately 7:21 a.m., State Police responded to a wooded area near Church Street in Brasher Falls after a pedestrian discovered an unresponsive male.

The individual has been identified as Nicolas A. Lecuyer, who had previously been reported missing.

At this time, the investigation remains ongoing. Preliminary findings indicate there are no signs of foul play, and there is no threat to the public.

The New York State Police would like to thank the public for their assistance and cooperation during the investigation.

New York State Police Wall of Honor - Today we Remember Trooper Shawn W. Snow

Trooper Shawn W. Snow was killed on August 3, 2008, in an electrical accident.

Trooper Snow was assisting a disabled antique fire truck on the International Bridge approach in the City of Ogdensburg when the vehicle came in contact with an overhead high voltage wire. Trooper Snow and the vehicle’s operator were killed instantly.

Trooper Snow was a 19-year veteran of the New York State Police and was assigned to the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit at SP Raybrook at the time of his death.
