The Art Therapy Project

The Art Therapy Project The Art Therapy Project provides group art therapy for people in need of mental health services.

The Art Therapy Project is a nonprofit mental health organization providing free group art therapy to adults and youth affected by trauma. Using the art-making process and with support from our art therapists, clients learn how to explore feelings, increase self-awareness and cope with life's challenges.

The Art Therapy Project is proud to have been part of the original Arts in Health initiative cohort, and we are deeply grateful for the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund’s ongoing support. We are excited to see the Foundation's expansion into Sports and Health, which will provide crucial further support for physical and mental well-being.

As founder and president of the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund, Laurie Tisch has dedicated much of her life to improving access and opportunity for all New Yorkers and fostering healthy and vibrant communities.

Every youth group art therapy session offers a supportive space for young people to express emotions in ways that reduce negative behaviors impacting not only our clients, but their peers and the broader community. But with recent funding cuts, we’re seeing the impact through a decline in youth participation in our programs.

We can’t provide these essential services without your support. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference. Donate today at https://thearttherapyproject.org/donate
