Better Blood Flow, Fewer Procedures: Sorin Medical Treats First Patient in Groundbreaking PAD Study!

Sorin Medical is excited to announce that we have successfully treated our first patient in a crucial international research study. This study is testing a new, innovative approach to help individuals suffering from Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), a condition characterized by blocked blood flow in the arteries of the lower leg.

The breakthrough treatment involves a special balloon coated with medication, known as SELUTION SLR™. This advanced method aims to improve blood flow, prevent arteries from narrowing again, and ultimately reduce the need for repeat procedures.

Congratulations to Matthew Erickson and Gabriel De La Cruz on completing their internship with Sorin Medical! Matthew, a pre-med student at the University of Virginia, and Gabriel, an aerospace engineer at Georgia Tech, spent their second summer with Sorin Medical advancing knowledge on alternative treatments for treating knee arthritis and further analysis of the benefits of the Sorin Heart Scan in preventative cardiology - making people feel better and live longer.
