Lipopheresis - Innovative Treatment For High Cholesterol!

At Sorin Medical, we always focus on bringing advanced, evidence-based treatments to support your heart and vascular health. We are pleased to offer Lipopheresis, a specialized treatment option for patients with severely elevated cholesterol levels, especially those who have not responded well to medications alone.

What Is Lipopheresis Treatment?

Lipopheresis selectively removes LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and Lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a), from the blood. These cholesterol particles are known to significantly increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, and progressive cardiovascular disease.

Unlike medications that work over time, Lipopheresis lowers cholesterol immediately during each treatment session.

Who May Benefit?

Lipopheresis treatment may be an option if you:

- Have very high cholesterol due to inherited conditions (such as familial hypercholesterolemia)
