Last week I attended the 2026 HER (Honor. Empower. Reset) Retreat hosted by J. Flowers Health Institute. It's amazing how quickly connection forms when women gather to support one another in being vulnerable, curious, and courageous. The keynote speakers shared incredible stories which inspired all of us to reveal ourselves more fully.
With their tireless planning and curated programming, Gabi Deambrosio and Claudia Schwarz ushered us all to a better place. 💫✨ What a lucky bunch we were.

As a recovery coach, I often ask, my clients, what brings you joy, what rings your chimes? A few of mine are Zuzu, my English cream dachshund, my beautiful mom, a burning fire and the first snow, being with my brother, spending time with my children and their significant others, and standing in my truth. ✨🩷✨

This was more than just an amazing event - it shifted our collective consciousness. We all felt it. ✨

With gratitude to Liberation Programs, and the incredible author, and journalist, Johann Hari for providing us all with such a beautiful experience.

More than 200 friends, colleagues, and community partners and sponsors came together.

Johann shared his powerful research and stories, bringing us all to that moment in Pigeon Park in Vancouver when he realized: the opposite of addiction isn’t sobriety, the opposite of addiction is connection. After he stepped onto the TEDx global stage in 2015 and uttered those infamous words, they became a clarion call for us all to lead with compassion and to foster community.

As a former Liberation Programs' Board member, I can attest to the fact that this is the work they do every day bringing that same connection and care to everyone they help and serve every day.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this unforgettable afternoon possible — celebrating compassion, connection, and community.

I never planned on getting sober. I just knew I needed to take a break - I was scared I might be an alcoholic. What I've learned and experienced on my 12 step path is that alcoholism is actually a disease whose cure enables you to become a better person. ✨ That's the spiritual alchemy. It has ended up being the greatest gift of all.

Hats off to Carolyn Costin!! 💫🌟🎉 A world-renowned eating disorder clinician, author, and international speaker, she was recently awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Kirsten Haglund Foundation and celebrated at the Finding Freedom Gala in Chicago. Carolyn is a trail blazer in the ED recovery field having founded the first residential ED treatment center in the US, and the Carolyn Costin Institute which has trained 1000's of coaches and clinicians across the globe. She's a cherished mentor of mine, and many others, and I continue to be inspired by her unwavering support and devotion to us all.
