"Do I need a tummy tuck?" That is a very common question patients ask when deciding what surgery to get on the abdomen. Although traditionally, everyone with extra skin was said to need a tummy tuck because the skin would hang, if extensive liposuction is performed, the skin actually tigtens up. This is an example of someone that just had liposuction, no tummy tuck, and how the skin shrinks and retracts after. Patient had lipo360, and so all the fat around the waist, abdomen, back, sides, was removed, and the body shrinks. If you look at the abdomen, you can see what it looks like if you just had liposuction without the tummy tuck. This is actually what most of my patients ask for, because the shape is very important.

Markings for Lipo360 BBL with arm lipo.
- Surgeons use markings as a roadmap, navigating where to cut, where to trim, where to fill. During the surgery the patient is laying down, there is swelling from anesthesia, etc, so it is important to place your markings accurately prior to surgery. This is an example of my markings prior to a BBL procedure.

The goal is to get the flattest stomach and thinnest waist. Liposuction 360 narrows the waist, but if you had children, your muscles might be stretched out. Then the only way to get a flatter stomach is to do a tummy tuck and stitch the muscles together. This video shows how the muscles look like before stitching and after stitching. Sometimes a tummy tuck and lipo360bbl can be performed in the same surgery.
So the two options are: 1. to do lipo360 first and see how your stomach flattens and if it does not flatten the way you like it to do a tummy tuck. and 2. to do lipo360 and tummy tuck together in one surgery. Both options are valid for right candidates.
