35 years ago, David sent a LETTER (by mail!) to Anthony Burgess, who didn't know David at all, and that started a penpal relationship culminating in Anthony writing a very detailed and specific preface to Bach, Beethoven and the Boys. It was beyond what could be expected!
The takeaway?
If you don't try, you will definitely not succeed.
So go out and do that thing. Reach out to that person. As Nike says, 'just do it'.
Who knows, you might find you get what you asked for!
