18F NaF Bone PET/CT is now available at University Diagnostic Medical Imaging, P.C.

- 18F NaF PET/CT may be utilized to stage and restage high risk prostate cancer patients suspected or diagnosed with bone metastases, and especially for patients with severe degenerative arthritis with equivocal 99mTc-Bone Scans, and abnormal PSA level.

- 18 NaF PET/CT is more accurate than 99mTc-Bone Scans/SPECT for identifying both malignant and benign lesions of the skeleton due to markedly enhanced resolution, sensitivity, and efficiency of PET along with integrated multi-slice CT.

- Patient preparation is minimal. There is NO fasting. Patients should be well hydrated. After the injection, patients are typically imaged within 45 minutes. Total study time is approximately 90 minutes as opposed to 4 hours with conventional bone imaging.

To schedule 18F NaF PET/CT or consult the medical team at University Diagnostic Medical Imaging, please contact us directly at (718) 931-2300.
