What an honor to participate in the 22nd Workd Congress of Endoscopic surgery/ELSA meeting in Singapore representinf IFSES Super curriculum and well attended. IFSES did a memorial to George Berci and Jacques Perissat, both of whom passed away within the last year. We also honored Gerald Marks (now 100) the original idea man! John Marks talked aniut his dad, Michael Edye made a wonderful video about Perissat, and I got to oresent George Berci. Just fantastic. Also present was Peter Goh from Singapore. He represented ELSA back in 1992 when IFSES was founded. Our fiture is bright. Barry Salky

SEGER Surgical Solutions has been approved for the FDA STep program. This is a big milestone for us. It recognizes that our device provides a better and potentially safer way of completing an intracorporeal anastomosis than exists today! Regulatory almost finished to begin our first in human trial. Stay tuned. Very exciting on this LONG road. Barry Salky

We are working on starting our first in human trial hopefully sometime in September, 2025. It has been a long road, but the end of the tunnel is in site. We are excited to be able to increase (dramatically) the use of intracorporeal anastomoses. Our patients deserve that!

Had some friends over last night. Beautiful evening in Snowmass. HIckory smoked 2 chickens and served a 2007 Pinot noir from Kosta Brown (Sonoma Coast). Just delicisous. Intact cork, zero sediment, tons of fruits, smooth as silk with a little spice at the end. Dan Kosta made really good wines. Smoked some bacon wrapped dates and shrimp to start. Everyone contributed to dinner too. Gazpacho, asian salad and tomato/corn combo. If nothing else, it made the plate really beautiful. It was really good combo of food and wine. Isn't that what we are looking for?? Alma made a homemade raspberry tart with cream patisserie. Diet this morning. Enjoy

Just finished animal lab with the SEGER stapler. It totally exceeded my expectations. Capture and closure of the common enterotomy took just over 30 seconds without narrowing of the closure. Design freeze and going to injection molds now. Hopefully, first in humans and FDA shortly. This could be a game changer for intracorporeal anastomoses. There will no long be any excuses for surgeons to perform extracorporeal anastomoses. Great for patients and healthcare in geneeral

SEGER Surgical Solution's novel stapler enabling easy and rapid closure of the common enterotomy for intracorporeal anastomosis was chosen by SSAT to represent them in the 2023 DDW shark tank. What a great honor for our stapler.

Was honored by The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation in New York last week. Physician of the year. It was a very cool event. Looked like over a 1000 people. Woman's Luncheon of Distinction with two other honorees. They were very impressive. A patient of mine, Hunter Moran, made my introduction and presented me with the award. I was totally humbled for sure.
