Integrative Healing Arts Acupuncture, P.C.

Integrative Healing Arts Acupuncture, P.C. IHA offers holistic acupuncture & Chinese medicine in NYC for pain, fertility, and women’s health. Its ancient roots can be traced to China.

Acupuncture is a powerful form of healing and part of a system of healthcare practices dating back more than 5000 years. The foundation of this form of medicine is based on the ancient Taoist principles of Yin and Yang, the transformation of energies within the body as well as external environment to achieve balance. Acupuncture uses the application of needles to stimulate various points on meridians on the body that facilitate the movement of Qi also known as “life force”. Stimulating these points helps bring the body into balance by activating and supporting the immune system thereby increasing the body’s ability to heal itself. This is also known as homeostasis.

A quiet win worth celebrating.

She came to me after more than three years of trying to conceive. She had been told her chances of conceiving naturally were very low, that IVF was likely her only path forward. Egg retrievals had produced low numbers and poor quality, and she had experienced loss that made it feel scary to hope again.

For seven months, we focused on gentle, consistent support — acupuncture, cycle regulation, mindset work, and a plan to reduce inflammation and stress. The goal was to prepare her body for a future IVF cycle.

At her pre-IVF check, her body had shifted. Mature follicles were present, and her care team suggested trying an IUI. She decided to say yes. That cycle resulted in a healthy pregnancy.

Every journey is unique, but the body can change in quiet, powerful ways when it’s supported.

Supplements are often one of the first things people reach for when they want to feel better — especially in January. Magnesium, vitamin D, adaptogens, and hormone-support blends are common questions this time of year.

From an integrative and Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, supplements are supportive tools, not standalone solutions. Their effectiveness depends on how well the body can absorb, regulate, and respond to them. If digestion is weakened, stress is high, or the nervous system is stuck in survival mode, even high-quality supplements may have limited impact.

This is why we focus first on regulation — calming the nervous system, improving circulation, and strengthening digestive function. When the body is supported at the system level, supplements can work more effectively and with less strain.

More isn’t better. Smarter, individualized support is. Contact me at 917-294-3805 to get your wellness on track this year!

From a TCM perspective, sleep is not just about rest — it’s about circulation, nourishment, and balance.

At night, Blood and Yin are meant to return inward, allowing the organs to repair and reset. When stress, worry, or overstimulation keep the nervous system activated, this inward movement is interrupted. The result may be restless sleep, vivid dreams, waking at the same time each night, or feeling unrefreshed in the morning.

Supporting circadian rhythm in TCM involves calming the Shen (spirit), regulating Liver Qi, strengthening the Spleen, and supporting Kidney energy — all of which influence how safely the body can rest.

Acupuncture gently signals the body that it is safe to shift out of survival mode and back into its natural cycle of rest and renewal. Over time, this regulation often improves sleep, digestion, mood, and hormonal balance together.

The body remembers its rhythm — sometimes it just needs support finding its way back.

This clinically supported, trauma-informed immersion brings together:
• Guided breathwork
• Live, intuitive music
• Optional ketamine support
• Structured integration and somatic grounding
All held by an experienced clinical team dedicated to emotional safety, depth, and care.

This experience is intentionally designed as a therapeutically held container, supporting nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and renewed clarity—rather than a peak or performance-driven experience.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the body follows a natural rhythm known as the Organ Clock — a 24-hour cycle where each organ system has a time of peak activity, rest, and repair.

When this rhythm is supported, sleep deepens, digestion improves, hormones regulate, and energy becomes more consistent. When it’s disrupted — by stress, irregular schedules, late nights, or emotional overload — symptoms often appear.

Difficulty sleeping between 1–3am may relate to Liver imbalance. Waking between 3–5am can reflect Lung system stress. Afternoon fatigue may be connected to Spleen or Qi depletion. These are not random patterns — they are communication from the body.

Acupuncture works with this internal clock, helping restore harmony between organ systems and supporting the body’s natural timing. Rather than forcing sleep or energy, we guide the body back into rhythm.

Healing often begins when we align with the body’s clock instead of fighting it.

If it seems like your body is slow to “bounce back”, that’s normal.

Healing doesn’t happen on a set calendar date.

January can be a time to slow down, listen more closely, and respond with support rather than pressure.

January often comes with pressure to overhaul everything at once — routines, habits, health. But after a season of stress, travel, disrupted sleep, and emotional stimulation, the body rarely benefits from extremes.

Fatigue, brain fog, digestive changes, and low motivation are not signs of failure. They are signals from the nervous system that regulation is needed.

Supportive care focuses on helping the body stabilize, restore rhythm, and rebuild capacity rather than forcing rapid change.

A gentler approach often leads to more sustainable results. Don't forget to schedule your appointment to support your body and immune system starting the new year. Call us at 917-294-3805!

💸 Don’t let your FSA dollars disappear.

If your go-to move is buying another pair of glasses just to use your FSA… there’s a better option.

✨ Acupuncture is FSA-eligible — and it’s an investment in your long-term wellbeing, not just a year-end spend.

Up to 40% of FSA funds go unused every year, adding up to $3 BILLION left on the table. That money was meant to support your health.

FSA dollars can be used for:
• Acupuncture
• Massage therapy
• Health coaching
• Insurance deductibles

If you have FSA/HSA funds that expire soon, you can purchase acupuncture packages now — and use them into next year.

📞 Call us at (917) 294-3805

We’re happy to help you purchase a package by phone or online.
