Introducing my burlesque alter ego…

Her debut performance was at show Dizney After Dark in collaboration with at .cabaret

This was not on my 2025 bucket list or anything I thought I’d be doing at 48, but boy was it fun!

I’m not sure when or if she’ll be performing again. But I had a blast trying her on for one night only and am so thankful for my fellow performers and my burlesque mamas for helping me find the burlesque performer inside.

And it truly never would’ve happened without the ultimate dance/burlesque mama for the pep talks, boa crafting, name brainstorming, listening ear as I crashed out and so much more.

Just a reminder to do the thing that scares you. Do the thing that makes you feel alive. Be a beginner at something.

We came, we ate crazy food, we met amazingly kind folks, we danced and we sang.

your music hits right to my mama heart, being a mom to boys without their dad. It connects us and is so important. You acknowledging your ADHD during the show meant more than you could ever know.

for this girl from Boston, who learned to ski in and loves VT, your music feels like home. And I’m so thankful to share it with my son. You call them depressing songs that make you feel like sh*t, but for this barely hanging on little family they make us feel seen.

I’ve shared pretty openly about how much I hate long weekends, especially summer ones.

But this weekend was a pretty perfect summer long weekend and it deserves a photo dump to remember it.

A long beach day, complete with digging big holes in the sand to a Jays game where we got to cheer on Jr (aka our buddy Olive) to cheering on Wyatt’s best bud in the lacrosse provincials quarter final, it was all I could’ve hoped for and exactly what we all needed.

I’m so thankful.

Today would’ve been 15 years.

15 years since the most perfect party ever.

Sailboats passing behind us as we share our vows.

Slurping oysters that were pulled from the sea just down the road.

Chatting with the chefs as the planner tried to make us do our introductions.

All of the best people in one place from LA, Ontario and more.

Everything was just as it should be.

This day went from being ours to just mine and I don’t know if I’ll ever reconcile it.

I always share my favourite photo from that day (swipe to the end to see it) but today I wanted to share more of us from this magical day.
