Before a Mako-assisted total knee replacement, a CT scan of the patient’s knee is used to create a virtual 3D model of their joint. This enables the PA and I to evaluate the structure of the knee, severity of the arthritis, alignment of the joint, and the surrounding bone and tissue.

During surgery, the Mako robotic arm, which operates through haptic technology, allows us to cut efficiently while protecting the surrounding bones and tissue. This efficiency allows for the reduction of surgical traumas while enhancing the speed of recovery.
