Jamaica is beginning a long road to recovery after the devastation of Hurricane Melissa. Many families—especially in rural communities—are facing destroyed homes, disrupted livelihoods, and urgent needs.

VIP Community Services stands in solidarity with the people of Jamaica. In partnership with Having Purpose Inc. , we’re mobilizing essential support for the communities most affected.

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our community for joining us at our Annual Gala! Your support ensures that, regardless of their ability to pay, our clients continue to receive the critical social and health services they need.

This year’s theme, “Engaging the Community,” honors the remarkable individuals whose dedication to service and collaboration inspires us all. Their efforts remind us of the incredible power we have when we come together to care for one another.

We recognized the following trailblazers for their outstanding contributions to healthcare:

- Dr. Neil Calman, President, CEO Emeritus and Co-Founder of the Institute for Family Health | Honoree
- Dr. Ann Marie T. Sullivan, Commissioner, New York State Office of Mental Health | Public Health Champion Award
- George Hulse, Vice President & Special Advisor to CEO, Emblem Health | Community Builder Award

During the event, we offered tours of our Mobile Medication Unit (MMU), an expansion of our Opioid Treatment Program that increases its geographic reach and reduces barriers to accessing Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) treatment across NYC.

The evening’s dynamic musical performances were provided by La Jara Band, composed of NYPD officers who use music to mentor and connect with youth, and the NYPD Options program, a leadership and personal development initiative empowering young New Yorkers.

Thanks to your generosity, we raised $396,711, bringing us close to reaching our fundraising goal.
