LAST DAY - Daily Song Spotlight Day 12

Song: Monkey Business - Track 12

The conclusion of the album - wrapping up back where we started. The musical and lyrical themes reference back to the beginning of the album (The Garden and Perfect Day), wrapping up the record to say that we’re going to choose to remain optimistic in a sometimes crazy world - and that we’ve come full circle through these trials and tribulations to take on whatever life throws at us - and do the things that make us happy

“Who really knows what’s going on life, we’re really all just along for the ride”

Almost there - Daily Song Spotlight Day 11!

Song: Chelsea - Track 11

This is what happens when you try to write the SADDEST BREAKUP SONG EVER. The song is mostly folk rock and Noah Kahan inspired, but ends in a Mayday Parade and Green Day inspired emotional pop rock ballad section

“I can’t live without you, my wolf has turned to s**t without you now, but they keep telling me to move on somehow”

Daily Song Spotlight Day 10!

Song: Eden - Track 10

TITLE TRACK! This is a grungy, fully acoustic song WITH STRINGS that is inspired by bands like Alice In Chains. The song talks about the devastating choice of giving up on your dreams and the slow realization that your best days might be in the past

“God damn the road that you have driven, the one that pushed your dreams so far away”

Daily Song Spotlight Day 9!

Song: Lately - Track 9

Calling all songwriters! This is a Weezer inspired, more acoustic pop rock song about the difficulties of songwriting, especially when compared to the musical idols that you are trying to build off of. The song talks about the feelings of inadequacy and frustration when trying to write “the next great song”

“Lately I’ve been working on my own s**t, I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t hate it”

Daily Song Spotlight Day 8?!?

Song: 10/9 - Track 8

What happens when you try to write the catchiest pop punk song you can? You get this BANGER. This is a fast, melodic song with another heavy bridge. The song is about having a few alcoholic beverages with your buddies at a drinking establishment, seeing the girl of your dreams, and messing up your shot

“That girl, oh yeah she’s so fine. Blue eyes that will blow your mind, you see it. That girl, gonna make her mine. Cuz she’s a 10/9”

Daily Song Spotlight - Day 7 baby

Song: Sticks and Stones - Track 7

This one is a p***y, Strokes inspired and riff driven song with a singalong bridge. The song is about the current state of general animosity in the world and the media, which usually feels more focused on creating division than unity

“The State of the world is the state of discontent, take out your headphones listen to your government, and push your fists down into the cement, and hold on…..”

Daily Song Spotlight - Day #5!

Song: What Remains - Track 5

This is a pretty cool one. The song has a very groovy, Arctic monkeys inspired vibe. But who’s ready for a SICK metal breakdown bridge?!? The song talks about realizing in adulthood that there are just some friends that you have always been pulling more of the weight for, and realizing you’re hitting your breaking point in calling that person a friend

“I just fold, I fold in half so you stand tall. I spent years, but you don’t seem to care at all”

Daily Song Spotlight - Day #5!

Song: You Can’t Save Me - Track 5

Grunge time! This is the grunge song on the album - and is supported by some pretty cool / different verses and bridge. The song is about starting to feel weighed down by the monotony of life, but also feeling like you are unable to reach out for help

“Can’t you see that apparently I’m too good to ask you to help me. You can’t save me”

Daily Song Spotlight - Day #4

Song: High School Romance - Track 4

This is a power power pop punk song with a killer bridge and some “call and response” vocals in the chorus. The song talks about the CLASSIC situation of having feelings for someone, and realizing / coming to terms with the fact that they don’t feel the same way - and then starting to question your life choices along the way because of it

“Start this over, new world order, I confuse her, f**k the future”
