Understanding your story is the first step we take in deciding what treatment you really need. During this evaluation, the team will evaluate your range of motion and document a personalized plan of care unique to your situation - not some cookie cutter approach you may get at other physical therapy clinics. After that, each 45 minute follow up session allows our collaborative team give you the undivided attention you deserve to execute on your personalized plan. Once you step into our doors, you will know that we are different. We are not your traditional physical therapy clinic and our approach to treatment isn’t traditional. We know what everyone else has tried with you hasn’t worked, so we go the extra mile. Most of our clients come to us when they don’t’ see results with other physical therapists and clinics. Our team not only has the highest levels of education but we have traveled internationally to learn from world-class doctors and experts, and record setting coaches. The Side Plank primarily strengthens the obliques, which are located next to your abs on both sides of your body. However, this is a full-body exercise that also trains the muscles in your hips, chest and shoulders.
Side Plank variations are based on the same philosophy as traditional Planks, which is to prevent movement of your spine—how your core is designed to function.
As an athlete, this is a critical skill. Your lumbar spine, located in your lower back, is designed for stability, not mobility. Repeatedly moving the vertebrae in ways they aren't designed to handle may cause back pain and ultimately lead to an injury, such as a herniated disc.
In addition, a more stable and stiffer core is better able to transfer energy between your lower and upper body. You'll be more powerful in skills such as throwing a ball, you'll have better balance and you'll be harder to knock off the ball and more efficient when moving around the field, thanks to having better control of your body.

One of the new drills added to our Baseball ⚾️ Strong 💪🏽 program is the swing to contact Drill demonstrated above. Swinging a weighted bat into the rubber box challenges your legs, hips, core, upper body and even grip.
Typically, rotational skills are developed with med ball drills. Although they are effective, holding the heavy bat adds an element of raw strength that cannot be duplicated by throwing a ball against a wall. Everything from your feet to your hands have to work to power and control the a bat. This exercise will help you rotate with more force, which will increase your power in skills such as throwing a ball, swinging a bat, and generating more bat speed. #
