The certification exam is designed to measure proficiency in certain knowledge, skills, and abilities.

The preceptor certification exam is comprised of 150 multiple choice questions that assesses an individual’s understanding of all aspects of preceptoring.

In addition to testing your knowledge, skills, and abilities as a preceptor, the preceptor certification exam is one of the core requirements to become a Certified Preceptor (CP).
Exams are scheduled on the 1st Saturday of each month, from 12 - 3PM ET.

Did you know you can become a Certified Preceptor (CP)?

Choose your preceptor training and continuing education from eight different clinical and non-clinical roles. Professional presentations, slide decks, and speaker bios are instantly accessible, online, and easy to view at your own pace. Each awards CE/CME credit.

After viewing all 25 modules in the series, you’ll be prepared to take the certification exam. Exams are proctored remotely and scheduled on the 1st Saturday of each month, from 12 - 3PM ET.

Lastly, after you have successfully passed the exam, you’ll be ready to apply to be a Certified Preceptor (CP). Applications are reviewed on a rolling (ongoing) basis.
