Today we have the first New Moon of 2026, a lunation in Capricorn.

This is really the time to set your intentions for this year. Capricorn is about commitment to the bones, power energy, getting to the top, will power, habits and mono-focus.

Capricorn doesn’t dream, she sets a goal gets it done!
She asks for clarity, decision, commitment, discipline, devotion and focus.
No bypassing. No excuses. No more waiting for permission. No waiting for magic to make it happen, but yourself!

We all have many things we want to accomplish, today choose one and commit it!

This is the question you have to ask yourself:

What are you willing to commit to even when no one is watching?

Which goal can I be devoted to and build the structures I need to build to make it happen.

Sometime in December I got invited to a gathering. The text said: “Join me for the Anniversary of Rumi’s wedding with eternity”. It was bit confusing, my friend , who invited me, is a poet, singer and writer. She has translated into English some of the most beautiful poems of Rumi in her books Gold and Water.

She explained to me that Rumi viewed death as a marriage with eternity. I could not stop thinking of what that really meant.

When my friend Cristina passed, her husband .yorgan asked me if I could lead her memorial, his ask was to keep everyone in the vibration of love and light to celebrate the joyful life of my dear friend. We all knew she would have not liked a funeral with everyone in black and crying, but rather a celebration of life filled with color, flowers, laughter and music.

Knowing that Billy is Turkish and that one of Cristina’s dearest spiritual teachers was Rumi, I asked Haleh if she could recommend some of Rumi’s poems for the memorial.

I asked everyone to close their eyes and bring their hands to their heart.
Then I read three poems from Rumi.
- When we die, we marry eternity
- On the day I die
- When I leave this body

It was a beautiful way to honor Cristina, who was bigger than life.

My dear friend Cristina,

There are no words to express the deep grief I feel in my heart because of your loss.

I feel so fortunate to have walked beside you for 30 years.

Your presence can never be erased from my life.

What a gift it was to share life with you.

We laughed, we danced, we cried, we worked, we thrived, we traveled, we prayed, and we raised our children together.

We shared so many beautiful moments.

We both came to New York young, mesmerized by the shining lights of this City, where we built our lives.

What a gift it was to meet you, to support one another and to thrive together here.

You were there to hold me in the most difficult moments of my life and I was there to hold you. We held each other unconditionally, always.

What a privilege it was to experience motherhood together and to be a part of each other’s children’s lives.

We shared a spiritual path with endless hours meditating and praying together, building a community, so much depth in our friendship.

You were a force of unconditional love.
I will miss you forever.

What a gift and what a privilege it was to have you in my life.

Thank you for so much.
Fly high, my dear friend, you did well.

You will always be with me.

October was busy
