Postpartum Visit and a happy client ❤️
I aim to schedule postpartum visits as early as possible, especially for first-time mothers—ideally around days 3 to 5 when the milk typically comes in and emotions can run high. These early days often present unique challenges, and timely support can make a big difference.
This particular visit was with a second-time mother. Breastfeeding was already off to a strong start, with her milk coming in smoothly and no signs of engorgement. Emotionally, she was feeling well—happy, grounded, and proud of her birth experience.
During our time together, we worked on improving her baby’s latch, as the baby was latching and unlatching frequently and becoming fussy. I also showed her how to breastfeed lying down to help ease the strain on her back during nighttime feeds.
We finished with the “closing of the hips” using a rebozo, and she’s using a belly bind to support her posture and provide a sense of being held and supported in her recovery.
I love leaving my clients feeling deeply cared for and truly supported as they transition into postpartum life.
