Joy in motion. Balance in action. Focus in real time.
At Newark Yoga Movement, we meet kids where they areâand invite them to grow from there. Something as simple as balancing a tissue becomes a powerful practice in attention, breath, and self-regulation. Mind, body, and spiritâall engaged, all while having fun.
This is what it looks like when wellness lives inside our schools. When students are given tools to pause, focus, and feel grounded, it doesnât just change a momentâit supports how they show up for their entire day.
Weâre proud to bring practices that build confidence, calm, and connection into classrooms across Newark. Because when kids feel balanced within, everything else becomes possible. đ

Joy you can feel. đ
âYoga, yoga, yoga!ââwhen students ask for it, we know something powerful is happening.
This is what it looks like when young people are given space to move, breathe, and feel good in their bodies.
Weâre not just bringing yoga into schoolsâweâre helping students build tools they can carry with them every single day.
What we want to see in the world starts with us. And it starts early.

A picture is worth a 1000 words. In a world that can feel overwhelming, we start with something simple:
a breath⌠a stretch⌠a moment to reset.
:
When young people learn how to pause, breathe, and reconnect with themselves, they carry that calm into the rest of their day â and into the world around them.
:
At Newark Yoga Movement, we believe what we want to see in the world starts with us.
:
Today, we help these students chose calm. đ

The organization touches upon all venues to reach children, educators and care givers including public schools, charter schools, independent schools, organizations catering to children and families, after school programs and health fairs and even the entire Newark Fire Department! Corporations have gotten involved like Audible.com, NJPAC and Rutgers University Newark because they know that every single person that can impact a child should experience self-regulating life skills. Our 9 free community classes this week give Newarkers an opportunity to unwind and de-stress at cool venues like Newark Museum, LGBTQ at Main Library, Van Buren Library, All Stars Project, Military Park, Historical Society and the awesome Clubhouse.
Now in our 10th year, we are excited to continue expansion with our Instant Calm running in a dozen schools and even expanding outside Newark to other schools. Our organization is always welcoming to new yoga guides wanting to work with us as well as volunteers to assist in classes or other aspects of the organization.
We look forward to having you visit our website or a class and see transformations happen to educators and children and parents and the community right before your eyes. We are really efficient with our funds received. In fact, just $50 teaches 60 children one time. Ohmazing. Thanks in advance for reading and hopefully joining us on the âmatâ soon somewhere in Newark.
