Happy International Women’s Day
When I was young I didn’t like being female nor did I like females.
I was such a tomboy!
Most of my earliest childhood friends were boys. Boys are simple. They argue, and get over it instantly working things out as if nothing ever happened..
Then as a teenager, I envied their physical strength.
I remember being high on acid way back then and having the realization that I was never going to grow any bigger, taller or much stronger. I remember feeling such devasting disappointment in that moment.
As a young adult, I resented bleeding every month and all that it entailed.
Why do we women bleed monthly, suffer radical hormonal fluctuations, cramps, PMS, risk of pregnancy, etc.
I resented how men could have s*x with multiple women and feel no heartache.
I resented their power.
Then I grew into a woman.
An empowered woman.
Joining forces with other empowered women.
Learning the wisdom women carry within them.
Accepting + Embodying the gamet of emotions, feelings and thoughts.
Remembering + Reclaiming my powers.
Appreciating the feminine aspect of myself and embracing the Divine Feminine within me.
Now, I hold sacred all that is female…
Bless our mothers, aunties, sisters, daughters, nieces, and GRANDmothers…..
And THANK YOU for all of the lessons, leadings and failures. Thank you for your wisdom, examples, nurturings, meals made with love, your sacrifices, your strength,+ courage, your discipline, your anger, and your eternal LOVE.
May women everywhere RECLAIM their voice and their power.
May we rise up together in full support of each other.
