Our Story
Experiential Education and Coaching
EquiSense Solutions LLC is an experiential education and coaching company. We collaborate with innovative institutions to create programs for people who need them most. We aim to co-create opportunities with our clients that evoke transformation. By developing awareness, self management, curiosity and intuition our clients can enrich their most meaningful relationships. (individuals, teams, organizations). Coaching may happen over the Phone, In- Person or in the Pasture.
Our Equine coaches are primarily horses who are no longer ridden and yet still have the capacity for deep connection to humans. We are proud to provide a high quality of life and jobs for these horses as they in turn provide counsel, education, support and inspiration for adults and youth.
Why Horses?
The human/horse connection goes back thousands of years. The attraction of the majestic and the mythical combined with the benefits of experiencing horses in their natural herd environment can provide powerful insight into how we as humans participate in our own herds, whether those herds are families, schools, communities, or the workplace.
Horses are honest teachers with the uncanny ability to mirror human body language, energy and behavior. Horses demonstrate and teach self-awareness, clear communication, leadership, trust, healthy boundaries, patience, assertiveness, play, affection and more. Their prey instincts may cause them to react quickly to changes in their environment. These instinctual actions in our presence can highlight our values and patterns of behavior and whether these values and patterns are working for us.
How does it work?
We believe our clients can find the best solutions for themselves when given the opportunity to discover them. Rather than instructing or directing solutions, coaching allows our clients to experiment, problem-solve, take risks, use their own creativity, and find the solutions that will work best for them. We use carefully selected activities with horses in a natural environment that allow clients to experiment with new skills, behaviors or patterns of thinking.
The key components of our programming are:
• Client(s) – e.g. Corporate teams, Military Veterans and their families, At-Risk Youth, Families, Teens and Adults in Transition
• A team approach of professional horse and human facilitators/coaches
• Solution-oriented, interactive, goal-based activities
• Facilitation and Debrief – activity setup and oversight, and reflection to develop real-life metaphors for growth
• Debrief that deepens new learning and co-creates an action plan for change
