Voice is central to human experience and yet often invisible in the therapeutic process.
Through a Gestalt lens, this workshop explores voice as a window into inner states, body tensions, defenses, and contact. When we attune to voice, our clients’ and our own, perception deepens, connection strengthens, and interventions become more precise and relationally grounded.
Through discussion, experientials, demonstrations, and case examples, clinicians will learn to:
• Understand the connection between voice, body tension, and defense
• Hear clients with greater vocal attunement
• Use their own voice to foster rapport, support, and co-regulation
• Access voice as an additional channel to guide therapeutic interventions
