Strong calves help you run, jump, change direction, and increase push-off power.

Most people only do basic calf raises, but your calves work through many different angles and positions while you run. Training more than just straight up and down builds strength that actually carries over into your running and protects you from pain and injuries!

✔️ Less stress on knees and shins
✔️ Smoother, more efficient running
✔️ Lower injury risk

The perfect cadence is different for everyone depending on their height and speed. It’s one of the things we measure in our gait analysis so you don’t have to guess!

Did you get it right? When looking at a single like heel raise the quality of the movement is very important. You want avoid the heel whipping in like you see on the second video. Push through the big toe and keep the inside of the foot down!

What’s also important is quantity of heel raises. You should be able to do between 20 to 25 heel raises in a row, with good form, in order to support yourself while you’re running. Think about how many heel raises you do when you go for a long run, you wanna make sure your calves are strong!
