💎 Crystal singing bowls are a newer addition to the world of sound healing, first appearing in the late 20th century.

Crystal bowls are designed to highlight one fundamental frequency, which differs from metal bowls that produce many overlapping overtones. Their pure quartz structure vibrates evenly, helping the sound remain stable and sustain for a longer period of time. This creates the clear, bell-like tone they’re known for.

✨Experience crystal bowls for yourself in
Miggles “Harmonic Resonance: A Sound Healing Journey”, Sundays from 2–3pm.

Props were popularized in modern yoga  by B. K. S. Iyengar to make poses more accessible, not easier. 🌿

In the mid-20th century, Iyengar began using everyday objects such as bricks, belts, chairs, and bolsters to help students experience the integrity of a posture. This made yoga accessible regardless of age, injury, flexibility, or strength. 🤍

After navigating his own injuries and teaching students with diverse needs, he developed a method that emphasized precision and alignment. Props became tools for understanding the structure of a pose, NOT shortcuts around it. 📐

His work reinforced that yoga is not about forcing the body into a shape. It is about cultivating steadiness and ease, known as sthira and sukha in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. ✨

Props teach us that utilizing support is not a weakness, and sometimes essential- a lesson that can be applied to life in a big way!  🌸

🔊 Sound has a way of moving through us in ways words can’t capture. We wanted to share an artist whose work truly resonates with what we experience in practice.

🎨 In his Wallwave Vibrations series, Loris Cecchini explores the physical manifestation of sound. These sculptural reliefs are digitally produced and then applied to gallery walls, creating the illusion that the architecture itself is rippling with vibration.

〰️ Each piece captures sound at different frequencies, transforming something we usually experience internally into something we can see externally on a large scale.

✨ We love seeing this artistic portrayal of cymatics, showing how sound and vibration can shape the world around us.

“Meditation is a journey to the self. Knowing the self is the destination of the journey.”

This was the essence of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s teaching. He understood that true fulfillment comes from the direct experience of the Self; not from external achievement, but from internal awareness. 🤍

🌍In 1959, he founded the Spiritual Regeneration Movement and opened meditation centers across Europe and the U.S. By encouraging students to meditate for just 20 minutes twice daily, he made the practice feel more attainable.

🧘At a time when Western yoga was mostly known for āsana, he brought attention to its deeper limbs—prāṇāyāma, dhyāna, and pratyāhāra. He taught meditation as a way to quiet the mind, balance the nervous system, and cultivate chitta śuddhi (clarity of consciousness) and samādhi (inner harmony). ✨

✨Peace, he reminded us, is not something to chase externally. The more deeply we establish it within ourselves, the more it begins to shape how we think, act, and relate to the world around us.✨🌍

🥣 Metal singing bowls are complex acoustic resonators. They are not single-pitch instruments. When played, the bowl vibrates in multiple modes—radial, tangential, and standing waves. These vibrations produce a series of partial frequencies, or overtones, above the fundamental tone.

🎵 Overtones are frequencies above the fundamental. When they align with specific integer multiples of the fundamental, they are called harmonics. The pattern and strength of these overtones give each bowl its distinctive sound.

🔬 The resonant frequencies of a bowl depend on its size, thickness, and metal composition. For example, smaller bowls produce higher tones. Larger bowls produce deeper, more powerful resonances.

🌫 Metal bowls are unique because they generate many partials at once, both harmonic and inharmonic. This creates a rich, layered sound spectrum with depth and complexity.

🌀 These layered frequencies make metal bowls especially effective for sound meditation. They can entrain brainwaves, shifting the mind from active beta waves to more relaxed alpha and theta states. This encourages calm and focus.

💓 The vibrations also resonate physically within the body. Bones, tissues, and organs respond to these subtle vibrations. This can release tension and create a sense of internal alignment.

“Your vibration shapes your reality. The higher you vibrate, the more aligned, joyful, and magnetic you become. Raising your vibration isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence, intention, and devotion to your light.”    ― Angie karan
