Burnout or depression? Hereâs how to tell the difference.
Burnout is exhaustion tied to specific stressors. If you step away, reset, and feel better, itâs likely burnout. The exhaustion is tied to what youâre doing, not who you are.
Depression is a persistent low mood, even when things are âfine.â Itâs a chemical and neurological condition that affects how you feel, think, and function. Depression doesnât go away with a vacation. It requires treatment, structure, and often medication to address the underlying condition.
Both deserve structured support. Whether itâs burnout or depression, you donât have to figure it out alone. Both are treatable.
We treat both. The Psych Lab offers psychiatric care for burnout, depression, anxiety, and ADHD. Link in bio.
