LGBTQ Scholars of Color Network

LGBTQ Scholars of Color Network The LGBTQ Scholars of Color Network is a national group of LGBTQ people of color involved in academic research, activism, and scholarship.

The LGBTQ Scholars of Color Network was founded in October 2014 by a group of scholars who were interested in supporting other scholars who identify as LGBTQ and people of color. With funding from the Annie E. Casey Foundation, the Arcus Foundation, and the Andrus Family Fund, the LGBTQSOC Conference was held in April 2015 at John Jay College of Criminal Justice - City University of New York.

We were so saddened to learn of the passing of Cecilia Gentili. Cecilia was one of the original members of the LGBTQ Scholars of Color National Network, having spoken at our first gatherings in 2014 and 2015. She was a force - someone who advocated strongly for trans people of color, s*x workers, and other historically marginalized groups, while also forging beautiful human connections with everyone who crossed her path. Her legacy will live on forever and we are perpetually grateful for the paths she paved for all of us.

Like many volunteer organizations, the LGBTQ Scholars of Color National Network has had difficulties sustaining itself - despite the hundreds of people who have found community through our national gatherings and virtual spaces.

We are looking for people who might be interested in reviving the organization. If you are interested, please DM us here and we can figure out the next steps. If you know someone who might be interested, please feel free to tag them or forward along.

Thanks so much for considering.

QTs (and everyone in-between)!

Help us fight disinformation about our communities with sage knowledge from our communities! Participate in QTSAGES! ("Q***r and Trans Sexuality and Gender Experiences Study")!

This study is for us by us! Our professional/academic QT research team wants to get accurate information about how we experience our everyday lives and put this information into academia and policy conversations! And, there are zero questions about trauma or discrimination! Also, you can win $$$ ($100 to be exact! + Multiple winners!)

Folks need to know how we experience our gender(s) and s*xuality on the daily; that's what this study is about. So, participation is also fun and for all the ages (18+)!

You don't have to be an activist or political to participate (but that's fine too)! Just be 18 years old or older and somewhere within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community! (Straight trans folks too! Ace/Aro folks too! Two-spirit folks too! Calling us all!)

Direct link to the survey: bit.ly/qtsages

Remember, you could win $100 for participating! Multiple winners!

Finally, share this post widely with all your friends--on and off the social media channels!
