Robert J Fluegel, PT, OCS, COMT is the founder and owner of Manhattan Orthopaedic & Sports Therapy (MOST). He graduated with a degree in Physiotherapy from Saxion University of Applied Science in the Netherlands in 1998. From the beginning of his career he has had special interest in advancing the manual therapy approach to patient treatment that he learned in Holland. This lead him to the Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars (MAPS). Earning his Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) and acting as a lab assistant for several courses, lead to a position as a faculty instructor. Since 2001, Rob has been providing continuing eduction to PTs, MDs and DOs teaching more than a dozen workshops a year; covering advanced manual therapy techniques, advanced assessment and an evidence based approach to therapeutic exercise
In 2004, Rob became a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). In addition to being a provider of continuing education, Rob is dedicated to continuing his own education, taking more than 50 workshops since 1999 from a wide variety of providers including Butler, Jull, McConnell, Paris, Wilk, Sahrmann, etc...
Clinically, Rob has worked in several out patient orthopaedic clinics in the tri-state area. Taking the best of those experiences has lead to the establishment of his own, one-on-one, patient centered clinic. Rob has experience working on everyone from the casually active to the Hall-of-Fame athlete. He also worked as the Head Physiotherapist for the US Freestyle Ski Team during the 2011-12 World Cup Season and remains on the rotational medical pool staff for the team. Rob's personal interests are: ice hockey, skiing, cycling, food and craft beer.
