Center for the Advancement of Critical Time Intervention - CACTI CTI helps vulnerable people during a time of transition in their lives by strengthening their network of support in the community.

Critical Time Intervention (CTI) is a time-limited evidence-based practice that mobilizes support for society’s most vulnerable individuals during periods of transition. It facilitates community integration and continuity of care by ensuring that a person has enduring ties to their community and support systems during these critical periods. CTI has been applied with veterans, people with mental illness, people who have been homeless or in prison, and many other groups. The model has been widely used on four continents.

Just out from Oxford University Press! The book describes the main components of the model, emphasizing how it differs from standard forms of case management, summarizes research evidence supporting the effectiveness of CTI, describes how the model has been adapted for use with different high-need populations in a variety of settings in the US an elsewhere, and considers strategies and challenges related to broader implementation of CTI including workforce training, funding, fidelity assurance, and program drift. It concludes with a consideration of the implications of CTI for the design of new "time-sensitive" intervention models in social work and allied fields

Adult homes warehoused mentally ill people for decades until a court order gave residents a chance to move. The embattled institutions were in danger of closing when the state threw them a financial life raft — the elderly.
