Chronic lower back pain is often blamed on discs or muscle strain.
But in some patients, the true cause is a congenital spinal variation known as Bertolotti’s Syndrome.
This occurs when the lowest lumbar vertebra partially fuses or forms an abnormal joint with the sacrum.
Symptoms may include:
• Persistent low back pain on one side
• Pain that worsens with standing or activity
• Limited mobility
• Pain that does not improve with typical therapy
At Vadim Kushnerik Pain Management, proper imaging and diagnostic injections can confirm the source of pain and guide targeted treatment options.
