My past—my student days, the time I worked in Japan, and the years in San Diego, New Jersey, and New York—has been shaped and supported by so many people. My supervisors who helped me despite my inexperience, my neighbors, my gentle and loving friends, and those who remain close friends even now, who understand me and share life with me across distance, time, and even across this vast country of America. And the truly kind people I am privileged to work with today. I am who I am now because I have been helped, supported, and encouraged by all of you. I have been so immature and imperfect—so much so that I often felt I should sink deep into a hole out of embarrassment. Even now, I sincerely offer my apologies and my gratitude to each and every one of you. And I offer my heartfelt thanks to you who are reading this right now.
Here, once again, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has been a part of my life.
Somewhere along the way, we shared moments, connected our hearts, exchanged love, laughed together, and thanks to the help and support of so many people, I have somehow managed to survive. There were many difficult times, but now I am moved by how full of love, blessings, happiness, and colorful my life truly is.
I will live my life doing my best to give back even a little to all of you.
With all my love and gratitude,
Setsu
