Myth: Lyme disease is a rare condition.
Fact: An estimated 476,000 people in the US are diagnosed with Lyme disease each year, but only a fraction of cases are officially reported because standard diagnostic tests are unreliable.
We want to see the problem of Lyme disease go away. For that to happen, our numbers must be fully counted.
Lyme disease may not debilitate everyone who gets it, but many who get it do end up with a long-term condition. It should worry everyone outside the Lyme community that so many people are getting sick with Lyme every year.
We love our community and are happy to meet new people every year. But we would love for everyone to be together under different circumstances.
In the meantime, Generation Lyme will be here for a growing community in need of support.
