One of many beautiful NYC moments to see up close and personal in a ((fairly) intimate space to drop so many pearls that inspired her new book, ‘Simply More.’ Thank you again to my dear friend and fellow Tiger, , for the invite! 🤎

Appreciation post to the fullest!

A big thank you to my incredible family, because without their support, love, honesty, and solid advice, I don’t know where I’d be.

And a happy belated bdays 🥳 to the septuagenarians who are a mere two years shy of their octogenarian years! I hope to be as energetic and full of life when I’m 50 as they are now! 🙏🏾❤️

As they say in 🇭🇹 Creole, ‘bat bwa’!

Mama? We made it!!!!! 🫶🏿

ABGH’s ‘The Doctor Will See You Now’ Campaign has made it to , y’all. NEJM!!

🚨 More than half of Black patients say they’ve had a negative experience at the doctor’s office. This is a reality we can no longer accept. 🚨

We’re here to empower our communities to have the tools they need to feel empowered in the doctor’s office, and to take charge of their health and healthcare as best as they are able.

This is just the beginning. Stay tuned for more of what TDWSYN Campaign* has to offer you and your loved ones.

OK…so this one stopped me in my (running) tracks…🏃🏿‍♀️

And especially during , y’all!

Thankfully, the jury is very much still out on this, the study is preliminary and unpublished, and the study is highly limited by the lack of some key information. But the findings are interesting nonetheless, and the underlying message is important, so listen up.

No one is immune to colore**al cancer. The most fit of us can get it, as can the most unhealthy. We are not low risk, even if we’re ultramarathoners, tri-athletes, or Ironmen.

✅ We can lower our risk by getting screened on time, limiting 🍺 and 🍸 and 🥩 , quitting 🚬, and staying active.
✅ WE MUST learn to LISTEN TO OUR BODIES! Don’t ignore symptoms just because you are fit and exercise!

Go to your health care professional, regularly. Get the checkups. Watch for symptoms, at any age! And pass this message on to your loved ones. ✌🏾

“The leading theory is that there is no single leading theory.”

Sadly, we’re seeing this data play out in our offices more and more with our younger patients.

As the research grows, advice you can follow today that can decrease your risk for these gut cancers include:

✅ Get your screening tests on time! ⏰
✅ Don’t ignore symptoms! Listen to your gut.
✅ Stay active. Move your body!
✅ Quit smoking (yes, it’s hard, & you can do it!)
✅ Limit alcohol consumption.
✅ More leafy greens and fruits. Less 🥩.
✅ Know your family medical history, especially that of your parents and siblings
✅ Did I mention getting your screenings on time? 😉

Screen for **alcancer at age 45 if you’re average risk, and even earlier if you’re higher risk. Talk to your doc. Don’t let fear or time get the best of you! 🫶🏿
