If you have been thinking about whitening your teeth, read on and we’ll tell you everything you need know.
We use a proprietary Zoom Whitening system that is well known and trusted by most of the professionals in the industry. This system provides fantastic results every single time and we are never afraid to offer it our clients because of its consistent results.
What do you need to know about the Zoom Whitening? First and for most choose the professional that has need doing this procedure for many years. Why? Because as part of the treatment we apply a 25% hydrogen peroxide whitening solution and someone with no experience and shaky hands can apply the solution to your gums and cheeks and burn them. The aligner treatment will take some time and you should be aware of how long it takes before you start. As we’ve mentioned in our previous posts it takes about 2 weeks to design the treatment. After you decide to move forward with this, your first set of aligners will be ready in 1 to 2 weeks. As I’m sure you know by now, we like to take personal care of our patients, that’s why we prefer for you to come to our office to put your first set on. Dr. Ahmed will make sure that aligners are sitting right where they are supposed to and make adjustments, if necessary. You will receive a few aligners at this time as well, because usually you will proceed to the next set every other week.

We would schedule your second visit in about a month after your first appointment. At that point doctor will check if everything is moving along as it supposed to and make necessary changes to your treatment, if required. First month is the most important for the treatment, that’s why we want to make sure everything is going well. Your following appointments will be every 2-3 months contingent on how things progress.

The complete teeth aligning process take from 6 month to a year. After your teeth move in proper position, you will be tasked in keeping them in that position. To do that you will be wearing a retainer. Your retainer will stay with you for many, many, many years! Exactly how many? - might you ask. Unfortunately, the down side to realigning your teeth at the later age, is that they will always try to go back to their natural position, because the roots and teeth structure are set-in place and will always remain that way, pulling your teeth back where they were, making your retainer a life-long companion. The reason why teenagers wear braces when they are in school, is because it the perfect age, for such a procedure. Most teeth are already there, yet the body is not yet completely developed and all forced changes, will remain in place.

1 BILLION toothpaste tubes are going to be added to the land fill this year. That is enough to wrap our planet 7 times with plastic tubes. All of them are going in to the landfill, because most are made out of non-recyclable plastics. There are currently no company on the market who is willing to take on the recycling the challenge. However, there is an alternative. You can use a toothpaste tablet. There are a few companies on the market, but our favorite is Bite. These are tablets that you store in glass! jar, therefore leave zero waste after you are done brushing your teeth. They come in 3 different flavors, mint, charcoal and berry. It works really simple, you just bite the tablet, use a wet toothbrush and the rest is the same, brush carefully and thoroughly. This is a simple solution, it takes no additional effort on your part and you will be putting a noticeable dent in the plastic problem in this country.

We started talking about the aligners last week and we'd like to continue the conversation.

First and fore most, let me walk you through the procedure, so you could have clear understanding of what will happen when you start the teeth correction and when will you see your results.

We will get to work right at your first visit. We will 3D scan your teeth, to use this image for both our and Invisalign teams, to design a personalize treatment plan. Teeth are a lot like fingerprints, therefore out of the box, good for all solution, are not acceptable for us. We will always look at your situation from a different angle and make sure the designed solution works for you.

Nothing can replace a human eye in terms of how precise things feet. And yes, we did have patients that wore the do-it-yourself aligners, to either no result or even worse, damaged teeth that need repair. Seeing a professional is what makes the difference.

The design and treatment plan usually take two weeks to complete. The treatment plan then discussed with the patients over a virtual appointment, to make sure the treatment meets their needs.

Then you will come to the office to put on your first set of aligners. Unlike many others, who will often just mail you the first set of aligners, we prefer to do this step in the office, to make sure the aligner fits right. Final adjustments are made in the office is necessary. Often, we will add small pieces of filling to make teeth move in the right direction, something that other no self-service is incapable of.
