Using the philosophy of holistic and alternative medicine, we have found that treating a patient as a whole person, and treating the cause of disease instead of their symptoms, helps to not only decrease pain, but improve the patient's overall health

About a year ago, a good friend Gina Duffy , advised me to change my “to” to a “for”. At first I didn’t understand what she meant. She said “don’t ask why this is happening “to” you, but instead ask why this is happening “for” you.

When I first was diagnosed, I was reminded of her words, but I couldn’t relate it to what was happening “to” me now; it took some soul searching to understand why this was happening “for” me.

Here’s what I discovered, before my diagnosis, there were things in my life that I was unhappy about. Everyday I would say to myself “today is the day, I’m going to change that...”, but I never got around to it or just didn’t want to address the problem. I let it eat me up inside like a cancer, because of my fear of making that change. Now that I am facing my hardest challenge, I am finding strength in making those changes. This is happening “for” me because it’s my chance to change. I’ve learned that everyday we are given is truly a blessing and an opportunity to find more happiness. Making small changes, like changing a simple word like a “to” to “for” can empower you to make positive changes in your life. Find your strength by trying to change the way you describe the challenges life will present to you. Try it and let me know if it helps. Thank you Gina 🙏
