Does this look like beginner? Not at all. But it is basic.
Teachers often advance clients to “harder” exercises because they want to challenge the students. But advancing the body makes the most “beginner” exercises super challenging. When the body advances and can work the principles (precision, control, working the core, breath control, etc.) even the simplest exercises are so deep@and rewarding.
In our teacher development meeting, we did the basic mat with a little variation and some transitions to intermediate. Everyone was working hard and sweating.
Since all the teachers are familiar with the exercises, they were able to work on their bodies within the movements to@correct the imbalances and build strength where they have weaknesses and lengthen where they are tight.
What use is an exercise program if it doesn’t correct imbalances? It only makes the strong part stronger and the tight parts tighter. With Authentic Pilates, the focus is on the correction and connection in the body to make true transformation.
Not a second is wasted, not a thought is distracted, everything is aligned and flowing.
